Our Story

My name is Lisa Chang, and I lost my husband during the pandemic.

Here’s what I discovered: grief doesn’t just end—it transforms. What’s missing isn’t just support during initial grief, but a bridge to “what’s next.”

That’s why Promise Doers exists.

Why We’re Different

Most grief organizations focus on the first 6 months. We focus on the next 6 years

We’ve helped over 500 widows, orphans, and foster children not just cope, but thrive. Because here’s the truth: You don’t just need to survive loss—you need to rebuild a life worth living.

My Background

Before losing my husband, I spent 23 years in church ministry, missionary work, and philanthropy. But nothing prepared me for the real challenges of widowhood. That’s why I created Promise Doers—because experience beats education every time.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to connect widows, orphans, and foster children—both locally and globally—with compassionate support, practical resources, and engaged communities. By restoring hope and purpose, we help them heal and regain independence, ensuring that no one faces challenges alone.

VISION STATEMENT

We envision a world where every widow is embraced, supported, and renewed—empowered to navigate life with confidence, surrounded by a community that fosters healing, growth, and lasting hope.
